readingbook2In this modern aged world wherein most people rely on television, movies and videos as a means of entertainment, only a small number would think that reading is still a basic need. As a matter of fact, a lot of not so good books are readily available in the market and some publishers dont even care if it is a good book or not simply because it doesnt matter anyway. People nowadays dont read as much as they used to during those times when reading was still the chief leisure activity. It seems that along with time, people have lost their passion to read and gone are the days that people would sit and spend hours reading books. Perhaps the readers of today still have the passion of reading but dormant within themselves, and they just need a tickle to discover what goes well with their interests to find meaning with every reading.

There are basically three types of a reader namely simple, gentle and intelligent reader. The Simple reader is somebody who reads without any exact reason and simply reads just to make use of his spare time. Usually, he doesnt read a book for the second time. The Gentle reader is somebody who turns to books as a means of pleasure. The Intelligent reader is somebody who reads books to get acquainted with facts because he is thirsty to learn more.

Reading has been very favorable mentally, spiritually and socially. Here are some of the reasons why you, your child, the society and the world as a whole can benefit from reading:

They are the people who are great achievers in their own field and excel well in school and in the workplace.
  • Sometimes, reading a good story tends to make you forget a stressful day at work, especially if reading can bring you to far away lands with the use of an imaginative mind.
  • Regardless of age, reading helps form a mutual bond with co-readers. It makes you feel connected with each other every time you talk about the same book you both commonly read.
  • Children and teenagers who love reading, have creative minds and comparatively higher IQs than non-readers that is why parents are recommended to inculcate into their childrens mind, the value of reading.
  • Reading is the keystone upon which other academic skills are built. Subjects such as history and science heavily rely upon the ability to read, synthesize, analyze and process information.
